INHOURS
INHOURS(duration)
Turns a duration into a plain number of hours, such as a task's duration for costing or spreading over time. Unlike days, an hour is the same on every calendar, so INHOURS is the way to add up or compare work across tasks on different calendars.
Arguments
| Argument | What to give it |
|---|---|
| duration | A duration, like [Duration], [Remaining duration] or WORKDAYS(…). Blank gives blank. A plain number is refused. |
Examples
Formula=INHOURS([Remaining duration])
The hours of work the task has left.
Formula=INHOURS([Duration]) * 95
The task's duration costed at 95 an hour.
Formula=SPREAD(INHOURS([Duration]), [Start date], [Finish date])
The task's hours spread evenly over its working days, as an amount over time for histograms.
Measure (on the project)=INHOURS(SUM(Tasks[Remaining duration]))
As a measure: the hours of work left across every task.

Common questions
Why is INHOURS of a number refused?
A number isn't working time yet. The editor says INHOURS needs a duration. For a number of days as hours, make it a duration first: INHOURS(5d) is five days of the project's calendar.
