INPUT

INPUT("name")

Reads one of the project's inputs: a named value for the whole project, such as how long a slip to test, that every row reads the same. Inputs can't be created from the app yet, so INPUT only works on a project that already has the input; on any other the editor refuses the name.

Arguments

ArgumentWhat to give it
nameThe input's name, in quotes, written out in the formula. Case and spaces at either end don't matter.

Examples

Formula
=ADDWORK([Finish date], INPUT("Slip by"))

Each task's finish, moved later by the project's slip, in working time on the task's calendar.

Formula
=[Total float] < INPUT("Slip by")

TRUE on tasks with less float than the slip: the ones it would push out.

Formula
=IF([Task] = INPUT("Slipping task"), "Slipping", "")

An input can be a task: this marks the task it names.

Common questions

What does “There's no project input called Slip by” mean?

The project has no input of that name. Inputs can't be added from the app yet, so write the value into the formula instead: ADDWORK([Finish date], 5d).

Why "INPUT needs text in quotes here"?

The name must be written out, not worked out: INPUT("Slip by"), not a LET name or a field holding it.
