AT

AT(value over time, date)

Reads a value over time on one date, as a plain value: for an amount, its running total up to that moment; for a level, its value then; for a date over time, the date as it was forecast then. An amount's running total stops just before the date, so work that lands all at once exactly at the date isn't counted yet.

Arguments

ArgumentWhat to give it
value over timeOne row's amount (SPREAD, CHANGE), level or date over time (HISTORY).
dateA date. Given a period set's dates, such as w[Finish date], it reads once per period and gives a list on the periods.

A level with no value at that moment (a blank in that update) gives blank. Before a level's first point, it reads the first value.

Examples

Formula
=AT(SPREAD(INHOURS([Duration]), [Start date], [Finish date]), DATADATE())

The hours the task was planned to have worked by the data date: its planned value as a running total.

Formula
=AT(HISTORY([% complete]), DATE(2026, 1, 1))

The task's progress as it was reported on 1 January 2026.

Formula
=WORKDAYS(AT(HISTORY([Finish date]), DATE(2026, 1, 1)), [Finish date])

How far the finish has moved since the forecast in force on 1 January 2026.

Measure (on the project)
=LET(w, PERIODS("week", [Start date], [Finish date]), MAX(AT(SUM(SPREAD(INHOURS(Tasks[Duration]), Tasks[Start date], Tasks[Finish date])), w[Finish date])))

The project's cumulative planned hours at the end of each week, the points of an S-curve, and the largest of them.

Common questions

Can I compare a value over time with a number?

Not directly: it has a different value at every moment. The editor says: "Values over time can't be compared. Read one as a number first, with TOTAL(…) or AT(…, date)".

The editor refuses this
=SPREAD(INHOURS([Duration]), [Start date], [Finish date]) > 10

Compare what AT reads instead: AT(SPREAD(…), DATADATE()) > 10.

Is AT at a date the same as the total up to the end of that day?

No. A date is a moment, and DATE(2026, 1, 1) is the start of that day, so AT there doesn't include the day's own work. For the end of a day, read at the next day's start.
