PERCENTRANK

PERCENTRANK(value, list)

Gives the share of a list's values that are below this one, from 0 to 1, such as how a task's duration compares with every other task's. It counts only values strictly below, out of all the others, so a value below all the others is 0 and one above all the others is 1, and tied values get the same share. Give it a value from the list itself, usually this row's own field.

Arguments

ArgumentWhat to give it
valueOne value, usually this row's own field, like [Duration]. Blank gives blank.
listThe column it comes from, like All[Duration]. Numbers, durations, dates or text, of the same type as value. Blanks are skipped. Fewer than two values give blank.

Examples

Formula
=PERCENTRANK([Duration], All[Duration])

How this task's duration compares with the schedule's: near 1 for the longest tasks, near 0 for the shortest.

Formula
=PERCENTRANK([Total float], SAME([Phase])[Total float]) >= 0.9

TRUE for the tasks in the top tenth of their phase by float.

Formula on relationships
=PERCENTRANK([Lag], All[Lag])

On a relationship: how its lag compares with every other relationship's.
